The Braeburn House


The residents of Braeburn House welcome you. While they may be among our most “challenged” residents, they are certainly moving forward day by day and enjoying their lives to the fullest. They all attend day programs and get out and about in their community, taking in all the sights, sounds, and smells of a busy city. They enjoy going to the movies and eating in restaurants. Grocery shopping becomes an outing where they take turns pushing the cart. Clothes shopping at one of the local malls is another treat for them. Sundays will find them attending their local Christian Science church.


Our residents also enjoy visiting their lovely neighborhood, where one of their favorite destinations is a beautiful park. The staff of Braeburn House has been working with the residents to extend the distance of their walks. The park is just about 1 mile from Braeburn House, so to go there and back is a good two mile walk. We are so proud of their progress. On very hot days, the staff takes the residents to a nearby air conditioned mall to do their walking. It is much more comfortable for them, and they enjoy seeing all the people and the colorful merchandise in the windows of a wide variety of shops. Sometimes they even enjoy having lunch in the Food Court.
